Columbian bustup: reasons and consequence
06/05/2008 - 22:40 / Pavel Marozau / Yuri Kozhuro
Any scandal around Lukashenko serves for the benefit of Russia. Untill Lukashenko is in power, russian government is much easier to have comparatively positive image communicating with western countries. They say, look what is happening in Belarus... Externally, practically, Russia has always kept distance from inadequate behavior of “batka“ and continue to do that.

Belarusian KGB Awaits Changes
08/16/2007 - 21:14 / Valery Kot, Andrei Abozau
Despite the fact that the appointment of Yury Zhadobin as the head of Belarusian KGB promised staff changes in KGB, no significant changes have taken place after a month in the office. It allows to conclude that, being a prudent man, Mr. Zhadobin is in no rush to have large scale changes. He is looking around the “household” left by his predecessor. It is notable that during the two and a half years of Stiapan Sukharenka’s office this “household” raised to the height unmatched by any director during Lukashenka’s rule.

A Loan from Russia: Unveiling the Likely Rationale
07/18/2007 - 01:24 / BISS
Does the application for the Russia’s loan prove that the Belarusian economy is falling apart? Does it make Belarus vulnerable to some loss of its sovereignty? Not very likely, say the BISS experts. The possible provision of a two billion loan by the Russian government seems not to endanger the Belarusian economy (given the current volume of the country’s foreign indebtedness). Moreover, the political side of this issue could also be managed rather unproblematically by the government of Belarus.

Belarus is doomed. It will be devoured by marauders…
01/04/2007 - 01:49 / http://3dway.org/node/5019
Belarusian authorities will never give up their money. If Russia charges 100 USD, they will definitely add 50 USD. If the price is 300 USD than common Belarusians will pay 300 USD. Russia will be the one to be blamed. All of these could have been expected: Belarusian budget is being recalculated now and one billion USD is to be added to so-called “President’s reserve fund”. More money will come from taxes and “holes” in social programs.

Sidorski’s Gas. The Contract Signed.
01/03/2007 - 02:08 / http://politoboz.com/node/54
The Contract Signed. Its evaluation and estimate are given in this article. We are interested in the visit of Belarusian Prime Minister Sidorski and Belarusian Ambassador to Russia Dauhaliou to Gazprom. Sidorsky also dared to give first negative estimate of the agreement. He said, “Belarus signed a disadvantageous contract.” However, Prime Minister’s comment does not mean that Aliaksandr Lukashenka won’t use the contract to announce his next victory over the Kremlin.

Divorzio All'Вielorussa
12/26/2006 - 06:53 / Illia Rassolau
The situation between the two countries will remain uncompromising. Lukashenka hopes that he is able to get Putin round—“batska” is gathering resources and succinctly concentrates power in his hands. Heating up the situation around the relations between Russia and Belarus has its certain limit. There is a bit of awareness that the leaders of the two countries will soon come to an agreement—if still not about the supplies of natural resources than at least about the Union state development strategy.
