Sanctions Against Belarus Are Unacceptable, Cardinal Bertone Says

Sanctions against Belarus are unacceptable, Secretary of State of the Holy See, His Eminence Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone told a press conference in Minsk, reported Belta.

“In our view, any sanctions against any nation - be it Cuba or the people of Belarus – are strongly unacceptable, as these sanctions cause suffering for people” he said.

According to the Cardinal, all nations should have a real opportunity for normal existence and development. “Any problems that emerge in the bilateral and multilateral international relations, should be solved in peaceful ways – though dialogue, negotiations,” the Secretary of State of the Holy See said.
