Iran Can Help Belarus to Construct Nuclear Power Plant, Abdel-Hamid Fekri Says
02/28/2008 - 16:57 / National Legal PortalIran would help Belarus to construct a nuclear power plant If the Belarusian side makes an official request, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Iran to Belarus Abdel-Hamid Fekri told reporters on February 27.
“We are ready to cooperate with Belarus and help it in all areas of nuclear plant construction providing two conditions are met. These are an official request of the Belarusian side and our own opportunities,” the head of the diplomatic mission noted. The ambassador also praised the scientific and technological potential of Belarus.
“Iran has opened a new way to using peaceful nuclear power, the ambassador highlighted. “Despite numerous sanctions Iran has managed to create its own nuclear technology and it is ready to share it with the other countries which have peaceful goals in using it,” he said.
Abdel-Hamid Fekri noted that taking into account the friendly relations with Belarus, Iran is ready to help Belarus to construct a nuclear power plant by the request of the Belarusian side. At the same time, he added that he has no available information as to whether such requests have been made. “We will cooperate in this area if the Belarusian side is willing to,” the ambassador noted.
