The Belarusian militia have detained head of the Poles Association in Belarus Andżelika Borys and Igor Bancer, editor-in-chief of the association’s weekly magazine “Magazyn Polski” in Grodno. Poland’s Foreign Ministry has issued an official protest against the detention.

Belarus’ GDP 8.4% Up in January-September

In January-September 2007, Belarus’ Gross Domestic Product totalled 108.4% as against the same period of last year. Belarus’ GDP is supposed to grow by 8-9% in 2007 and by 8.3% in January-September, the Ministry of Statistics and Analysis told BelTA.
